Accessibility

The contents of this website have been designed to conform to the W3C WAI accessibility guidelines. The aim is to guarantee anyone and everyone access to website information and services without any kind of limitations or restrictions on the grounds of disability or constraints on the device used to access the website. Specifically, it has been designed to conform to at least WAI Accessibility Level AA. We have opted to include Double A-compliant web content features as opposed to the option of offering an accessible version of each page. This should transparently provide accessible browsing for users.

The website has been analysed using TAW (Web Accessibility Test) and passed Conformance Levels A and Double A. Only an odd few pages have minor contents-related problems preventing them from conforming to Level Triple A. We are working on adapting all these pages.

The pages comply with the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2 standards. This way, they should offer well-built HTML that can be interpreted correctly by a range of browsers running on different devices. A Enlace a página cuya accesibilidad no ha sido verificada icon, positioned at the side of links to the very few pages that cannot be modified on maintenance grounds and have been part of the Facultad de Informática's website since before it was upgraded to an accessible site, indicates transitions to inaccessible pages.

With a view to achieving maximum browser and device compatibility and ruling out the need for an alternative accessible version, we have refrained from using JavaScript for elements required to browse the site. JavaScript is only used for visual elements that help users to find their way around the site but are not necessary to browse the site.

With a view to continuously improving of our website, we welcome any suggestions you would like to make.
